Information for Current Volunteers
Wiley Band Volunteer Opportunities
Rehearsal Assistants - To ensure that our rehearsals run smoothly, we will have a parent volunteer to act as Rehearsal Assistant at every Wiley Band rehearsal. Rehearsal Assistants need not have any musical experience or knowledge--the band director will handle that! Rehearsal Assistants simply help maintain an orderly rehearsal environment where students can successfully learn and grow.
Rehearsal Assistants:
- Set up chairs and stands for band rehearsal (see the beginning and advanced setup sheets for help!)
- Monitor students during rehearsal, gently reminding them to stay on task
- Act as "time-out" supervisors, in the unlikely event of student discipline problems
- Assist director in passing out materials to students
- Supervise student pickup after rehearsal ends
Concert Volunteers - Concert volunteers assist with the many details involved in putting on a successful musical performance.
Concert Volunteers:
- Supervise students while they're not performing
- Assist in distributing concert programs to the audience
- Setting up chairs and stands
- Helping move equipment between bands
- Supervising and maintaining the instrument unpacking area
